Breast augmentation with silicone or saline implants is a common plastic surgery procedure used to enhance the volume and give a rounder and fuller appearance in a woman’s breasts. It can be done at the same time as a breast-lift, or mastopexy, if required.
Increase breast volume or cup size
There are several reasons for a patient to consider a breast augmentation surgery. These include small breasts that are not in proportion to body size, changes after pregnancy, changes after breastfeeding, weight loss, asymmetry of breast size, or simply to gain breast fullness. Breast implants can also be used simply to increase breast volume or cup size. They can increase the upper breast fulness, or “cleavage”, and can also rejuvenate a deflated looking breast which can occur after childbearing. If the nipple position is also low, a breast lift can be accomplished as a combined procedure.
Dr. Mok, most often uses silicone cohesive gel smooth round implants (from the breast implant company Mentor ) and places the breast implants in dual-plane position (modified subpectoral). The choice of type of implant, silicone or saline, and the position of the implant, above or below the muscle depend on several factors that are patient and surgeon specific. During your consultation the precise treatment plan for you will be determined.
