Elle peut \u00eatre d&rsquo;origine g\u00e9n\u00e9tique, \u00eatre caus\u00e9e par des m\u00e9dicaments ou des maladies, ou n&rsquo;avoir aucune cause \u00e9vidente. Les hommes qui sont en surpoids et qui, de ce fait, semblent avoir des seins plus volumineux, peuvent \u00eatre class\u00e9s dans la cat\u00e9gorie des pseudo-gyn\u00e9comasties. Dans les deux cas, en tant qu&rsquo;homme, avoir des seins peut d\u00e9clencher un manque d&rsquo;estime de soi et \u00eatre associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une perte de masculinit\u00e9. Au cours d&rsquo;une chirurgie de r\u00e9duction de la gyn\u00e9comastie, le tissu mammaire masculin peut \u00eatre retir\u00e9 afin de cr\u00e9er une poitrine plus plate et plus
